Larisa Mihajlova – The Vision Behind LARO
Designer by education, artist at heart.
The soul of LARO is Larisa Mihajlova, a celebrated Macedonian designer with more than 30 years of experience in interior and furniture design. Her journey began at the High School of Arts, specializing in furniture design, where her imagination, creativity, and love for form first came to life.
Despite the turmoil of the early 1990s in the Balkans, Lara remained committed to her craft. She began her career at Bujoto, one of Macedonia’s most renowned furniture companies, where she rose quickly to the position of Chief Designer.
In 2000, together with her father, she founded FORMA, a studio that soon became one of the leading design companies in Macedonia, recognized for its outstanding quality and innovation. In 2013, FORMA evolved into LARO, continuing Lara’s creative legacy and expanding into a full-service, internationally recognized design and build firm.
Lara’s work is characterized by emotion, precision, and a deep understanding of how people experience space. Her philosophy is simple:
“Design isn’t just what you see — it’s what you feel.”
Her success continued to grow beyond Europe. After relocating to the United States, Lara quickly became known for her exceptional kitchen and interior designs, earning respect, demand, and recognition from clients and professionals across America.
